Ship many orders in a batch
Open several orders on one page to print their labels and packing slips together, fulfill them, and on Operations get rates and buy labels for all of them.
Updated October 23, 2026
A batch puts several orders on one page, one row per shipment, so you can work through a pile of orders without opening each order page.
Open a batch
- On the Orders page, tick the orders you want. You can select the orders on the page you are looking at.
- Click Open in batch.
The batch page lists every shipment of those orders, with a summary line such as “12 orders · 14 shipments · 9 labeled”. Return labels are not listed.
On the Operations plan, Batches in the app menu opens the batch page directly, with your saved batches beside it. See Pick lists and saved batches.
What every plan can do
Every plan can print the batch’s labels and packing slips and fulfill the orders that are ready. Print packing slips gives you the packing slips of every labeled shipment in one letter-size PDF.
Print labels
Print labels lays the labels out for each carrier’s Label paper setting on the Carriers page, so half sheets get two labels per page and letter paper one. Labels from carriers set to different papers come out in the same PDF, grouped by paper.
When every label in the batch is ZPL on Thermal label printer (4×6) paper and Zebra Browser Print is running, the labels go straight to your Zebra printer in one send and you see “N labels sent to the printer.” Otherwise the PDF opens. See Print labels on a Zebra or a laser printer.
Fulfill orders
The number on Fulfill orders counts the orders that are ready: every shipment has a label, every box is in a shipment and every item is in a box. The last check is stricter than Fulfill Order on the order page, which doesn’t look for items left out of every box. Clicking it opens a confirmation: “Each order is marked fulfilled in Shopify with its tracking numbers, and Shopify sends the customer a shipping email.”
Orders that can’t be fulfilled yet are listed under Not ready to fulfill with the reason:
| Reason | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Cancelled | The order was cancelled in Shopify |
| Nothing left to fulfill | Every item is already fulfilled |
| No shipments | The order has no shipment Parcello can label |
| Every shipment needs a label | At least one shipment has no label yet |
| Some boxes aren’t in a shipment | A box on the order isn’t assigned to a shipment |
| Some items aren’t in any box | An item still to ship sits in no box |
See Fulfill orders in Shopify.
Get rates and buy labels (Operations plan)
On the Operations plan the batch also rates and buys labels.
- Click Get rates (N). Parcello checks each shipment’s address with its carrier and gets rates, as Validate Address & Get Rates does on the order page. Each row says “Rated” or what went wrong.
- Settle any address suggestions on the rows (see below).
- Click Buy labels (N). A confirmation shows how many labels you are about to buy and the total of the rates shown, for example “Each label is bought on its carrier account at the rate shown in the batch, about $184.20 in total.” Shipments with no rate on file are priced by the carrier at purchase.
- Click Buy labels in the confirmation. Each row shows “Label bought” or the carrier’s error, and a banner sums it up, for example “12 labels bought.” With Fulfillment when labels are bought on (Automation page), rows whose items Parcello marked fulfilled show “Label bought · Fulfilled in Shopify”, and the banner adds, for example, “Items fulfilled in Shopify for 12 of them.”
Each label is bought exactly as it would be from the order page: same carrier account, service, boxes and declared value.
Get rates skips shipments that already have a label and freight shipments (Estes and FedEx Freight). Buy labels only buys rows marked Ready to buy.
Address suggestions
When a carrier suggests a corrected address, the row shows Check address with both addresses, for example “UPS suggests 12 MAIN ST, SPRINGFIELD IL 62701-1234. Yours: 12 Main St, Springfield IL 62701. Use it or keep yours.”
- Use suggested puts the carrier’s address on the label.
- Keep mine keeps your address.
Either choice rates the shipment again when needed. When the suggestion leaves part of the street out (an apartment or suite number), only Keep mine is offered in the batch. Open the order to review the suggestion there. See Addresses: checks, suggestions and edits.
Rows the batch leaves for the order page
Freight shipments (Estes and FedEx Freight), dropship shipments, Shippo shipments with Shippo insurance selected, international shipments with an incomplete customs form and suggestions that drop part of the street all need a decision on the order page. Their badges are in Row statuses.
Click the order number on a row to open the order. The back arrow on the order page reads Batch and returns you to the same batch.
Apply a preset (Operations plan)
When you have order presets turned on, an Apply a preset… menu appears. Pick a preset and click Apply to unlabeled shipments. The preset’s settings go on every shipment in the batch that has no label yet, and you see, for example, “Ground saver applied to 8 shipments.” See Order presets.
Row statuses
The Status column shows a badge and, under it, a note that says what is missing and where to fix it.
| Badge | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Ready to buy | Everything is in place | Buy labels |
| Needs rates | The address hasn’t been checked, a Shippo shipment has no quote, or Saturday delivery was changed or the ship date moved since the last rates | Get rates |
| Check address | The carrier suggested another address | Use suggested or Keep mine |
| Label bought | The label exists, not fulfilled yet | Print, then fulfill |
| Fulfilled | Parcello fulfilled the shipment, or Shopify shows every item in its boxes fulfilled, for example marked fulfilled in the Shopify admin | Nothing |
| Voided | The label was voided | Open the order to buy a new one |
| Dropship | Ships from a dropship location | Nothing in Parcello |
| Freight | Ships with Estes or FedEx Freight on a bill of lading | Create the BOL on the order page |
| Needs boxes | The shipment has no boxes | Add or move a box on the order page |
| Empty box | A box in the shipment has no items | Fill or remove it on the order page |
| Items not boxed | An item on the order is in no box | Pack it on the order page |
| No carrier | No carrier is set | Pick one on the order page, or set a store default on Carriers |
| Missing details | The label address lacks something the carrier needs | Add it on the order page |
| Address problem | The carrier couldn’t verify the address | Fix it on the order page |
| Pick a service | No service is chosen | Pick one on the order page |
| Check service | The customer paid for a faster service than the shipment’s, or a shipping line added after checkout didn’t change the service | Check the service and buy this label on the order page |
| Saturday delivery | Saturday delivery is ticked but the shipment’s service delivers on a weekday | Pick a Saturday service, or untick the box, on the order page |
| Confirm insurance | Shippo insurance is selected | Buy this label on the order page |
| Customs form | The customs form is incomplete | Complete it on the order page |
“Missing details” notes name the field, for example “The label address needs a phone number with at least 10 digits. Add it on the order page.”
Notes and limits
- Print labels and Print packing slips only cover shipments that already have a label.
- A batch is a view of the orders, not a copy. Changes you make on an order page show in the batch when you come back.
Troubleshooting
“No labels in this batch yet” or “No labeled shipments in this batch yet”: no shipment in the batch has a label. Buy labels first, in the batch or on the order pages.
“No response from the server. Refresh before retrying: the action may or may not have gone through.” on a row: the connection dropped while Parcello was rating or buying. Refresh the batch before you click Buy labels again, so you don’t buy the same label twice.
A row stays on “Needs rates” after Get rates: read the note under the badge. It names the carrier’s error, or says the address check got no answer (“The address check got no answer. Get rates again.”).
