Changelog
What changed in Parcello recently. Changes reach every store automatically.
- New Shipments page (Operations plan): make a shipment that isn't part of a Shopify order, such as a trade show, a sample or a replacement, with its own number (SH-1001), boxes, carrier, rates, label and customs forms. It can be picked up at one of your locations or at another US address, and linked to an order so it shows on that order's page and in its shipping cost. Quick Quote has a Create shipment button on each rate.
- UPS imports on the Shipments page: goods picked up from a supplier abroad and billed to your UPS account (UPS Import Control), with the label printed by you or emailed to the supplier by UPS.
- Customs forms: unit values such as 0.03 can now be typed, and UPS receives up to six decimals. The sold-to party can have its own address, sent to UPS and FedEx and printed on Parcello's invoice. HS codes typed with dots are sent as digits.
- When UPS, Estes or FedEx Freight keeps refusing a store's sign-in for two hours, the carrier's card on the Carriers page shows Reconnect and tracking for that carrier pauses until you reconnect.
- The Boxes page can export your box library to Excel and import boxes from an Excel or CSV file: one row per box, matched by name, so an import adds new boxes and updates existing ones. Parcello shows the new and changed boxes, and any problems by row, before anything is saved. Download template gives the column names and a sheet explaining each one.
- Package Assignments rows on the order page now say "2 to ship", "1 of 2 left to ship" or "All 2 fulfilled". Before, a fulfilled line read "0 to ship".
- For products whose every unit goes in one box, a Package Assignments row turns orange when the units in its boxes don't match the units ordered, for example "1 of 2 in a box" or "6 in boxes, 3 ordered", so a missing or doubled item is caught before the label is bought.
- Signing in to UPS or Shippo from the Carriers page now finishes on the Carriers page: the sign-in window hands the connection back and closes, and the page says UPS connected or Shippo connected. Keep the Carriers page open until the window closes. If the window was closed early or the page was reloaded, click the sign-in button again.
- A new or changed MyEstes username and password is checked with Estes before it's saved. A wrong login now shows an error on the Estes card instead of failing at the first quote or tracking refresh.
- Saturday delivery on UPS and FedEx shipments within the US: tick it under Signature required on the order page. Rates then show which services deliver on Saturday and the carrier's Saturday fee, and the label asks the carrier for Saturday delivery.
- On a Friday, FedEx overnight services are listed once on the order page, with their weekday delivery date, unless Saturday delivery is ticked. Before, each appeared twice and the label was always for weekday delivery.
- The Ship date field now shows the next ship day when you haven't picked one, and rates and FedEx labels use it. Stores using live checkout rates follow their checkout cutoff and shipping calendar. After you get rates, the label goes out on the date those rates were for.
- Parcello now copies all of a store's products from Shopify once, even when product changes reached Parcello before the Products page was first opened. Before, products not edited since installing could be missing from the Products page until you clicked Sync Products. The first copy runs in the background, so the Products page opens right away.
- FedEx Express rates for a single small box now match what FedEx charges for the label. FedEx had priced those rates as a FedEx One Rate box, without fuel and delivery area charges, so the order page and live checkout rates showed less than the label cost: Priority Overnight quoted $23.05 was billed $38.19. FedEx rates now also include the cost of each box's declared value, as the label does. FedEx Ground and shipments of two or more boxes were already right.
- A box you add on the order page with custom dimensions keeps the Weight (lb) you entered as its box weight, even when you don't save it to your library. Before, the order page showed its Box Weight as 0.00 lb and dropped the weight once items went in, so its label could go out lighter than the box.
- The order page shows the Shopify order's note in each shipment's Order Address box, as written, with a May affect delivery badge when it mentions things like an appointment, calling ahead, a liftgate or delivery hours. It follows edits to the note in Shopify.
- Fulfilling a shipment of USPS labels bought through Shippo now sends Shopify the tracking number of every box holding the fulfilled items. USPS has no multi-box shipments, so each box is its own label; before, only the first box's number reached Shopify.
- Orders marked fulfilled in Shopify instead of Parcello show on the order page under Fulfilled externally, with their tracking numbers or No tracking number. When Parcello bought labels for those items, the row lists the label numbers the fulfillment doesn't have. Before, the page said No fulfillment activity yet.
- A fulfillment made in Shopify with a Parcello label's tracking number typed in, in any case or spacing, is no longer listed twice on the Tracking page.
- On an order fulfilled outside Parcello, shipments with Parcello labels stay on the order page, so you can still download or void the labels.
- Text typed into Shopify's tracking field instead of a number, such as "pick up" on a pickup, no longer shows on the Tracking page as a tracking number.
- Fulfillment when labels are bought, on the Automation page (every plan, off until you turn it on): as soon as every box holding an item has a label, Parcello marks the item fulfilled in Shopify with its tracking numbers, and Shopify emails the customer. Voiding the label cancels that fulfillment. Freight on a bill of lading isn't included.
- Add to Shopify on a fulfillment made outside Parcello that lacks the order's label numbers: Parcello adds the numbers of the boxes holding its items to that fulfillment in Shopify, keeps the numbers it already has, and can have Shopify email the customer the tracking link.
- On the Batches page, a labeled shipment whose items were marked fulfilled in Shopify outside Parcello now shows Fulfilled instead of Label bought.
- UPS air freight booked through UPS's forwarding service (10-digit numbers) now shows its status on the Tracking page.
- USPS pickups through Shippo on the Pickups card (Operations plan): book a free USPS pickup for the USPS labels you bought through Shippo at a location. Shippo can't cancel pickups, so you cancel with USPS, then mark the pickup cancelled in Parcello. Locations with a daily USPS stop can be marked on the Locations page. When USPS doesn't confirm a pickup right away, type in the confirmation number from its email on the stop.
- FedEx Freight LTL on your own FedEx Freight account (Freight plan). Connect it on the Carriers page with your integration's Client ID and Client secret and your FedEx Freight account number, and, when FedEx Freight bills another account, the bill-to account and its billing address.
- FedEx Freight Priority and Economy rates at checkout and in Quick Quote, with negotiated or list prices, surcharges and delivery accessorials: residential, liftgate, inside, limited access and call before delivery (Freight plan).
- FedEx Freight bills of lading on the order page: get freight rates, review and create the BOL, download the BOL and the shipping labels, and book or cancel the pickup from the shipment or the Pickups card. Parcello tracks the PRO numbers on the Tracking page (Freight plan).
- An order with freight uses one freight carrier, Estes or FedEx Freight: the one its products are set to on the Products page, otherwise the one that priced the customer's checkout option, otherwise the first one connected, Estes before FedEx Freight (Freight plan).
- A Freight card on the Carriers page holds the settings both freight carriers share: Consolidate parcel items onto a freight shipment, the standing BOL special instructions and the pickup ready window. They used to be on the Estes card.
- Recalculate Packages keeps freight shipments on their freight carrier. Before, it could leave them with no carrier.
- Boxes have a Limits group on every plan. Max weight caps a box, box and contents together: Parcello starts a new box before going over it, at checkout and on orders. It used to apply to automatic packing only, which still uses 150 lbs when it's blank. A single item heavier than the limit ships alone in that box and is flagged.
- Max pieces when products share this box: with Combine different products into shared boxes on, a box holding different products takes at most that many pieces in total, each product still within its own Max qty per box.
- Ride-along riders can be limited to small orders with Orders up to N host pieces. Above that, the rider doesn't ride in that box type and ships in its own box. Blank rides on any order.
- Add host now sets Room for add-ons on several products of one box type at once, and names any product it skipped because it doesn't use that box type.
- The Products page warns when one item and its box weigh more than the box's limit, and the order page and Test a cart (Operations plan) note a box over its limit.
- Connecting FedEx: the State field is a list for the US and Canada, so FedEx always gets the two-letter code it matches against your account, and the registration form starts with your last answers. The FedEx card shows Continue verification only while a verification FedEx opened is still open, and Continue setup otherwise.
- FedEx verification lists only the methods FedEx offers for your account and shows the last digits of the phone number it sends the code to. If FedEx can't send a code, or doesn't accept a code or an invoice, the verification stays open so you can try again or use another method, and the message is readable instead of FedEx's raw answer.
- Products that aren't physical, such as an express fee, no longer leave orders Partially fulfilled: on the Automation page, choose to have Parcello fulfill them with the first shipment or when the last item ships. Parcello fulfills them without emailing the customer. The Automation page now shows on every plan.
- A shipment Parcello creates after an order's labels exist, for a box you add or move to a new shipment, now takes its carrier from what it carries: Estes for freight, otherwise the item's carrier or your store default. Before, it copied the order's latest shipment, so a parcel box added after a freight bill of lading came out as freight.
- A shipping upgrade added to an order with Edit Order, such as "Overnight", moves the order's UPS and FedEx shipments without labels to that service, and the shipment says why. A removed upgrade moves them back, and a service you picked yourself stays.
- Shipping lines you type on draft orders are read for the speed you sold: "Overnight" ships UPS Next Day Air Saver, "AM" Next Day Air and "early" Next Day Air Early.
- The order page warns when a shipment or its label is on a slower service than the customer paid for. On the Batches page those shipments show Check service.
- When the service the customer paid for isn't quoted, Parcello now picks the cheapest service at least as fast, not the cheapest overall.
- USPS shipments fulfilled outside Parcello, and the other carriers Shopify tracks, now show their status on the Tracking page from Shopify's own tracking, with late and stalled alerts. So do UPS and Estes shipments at stores that haven't connected those accounts.
- Labels bought through Shippo show their status on the Tracking page.
- Tracking no longer stalls for UPS and FedEx shipments at stores with many USPS shipments.
- Shipments have a Signature required checkbox. It starts ticked when the customer's checkout rate included a signature, and the shipment's rates and label follow it.
- Checkout rates that include a signature now say "Signature required".
- Two new plans: Operations, with batch label buying and automation, and Freight, with Estes LTL freight.
- Batches: select orders on the Orders page and open them in a batch to print every label and packing slip and fulfill the orders that are ready. On the Operations plan, buy the labels, print a pick list and save the batch.
- Order presets set the carrier and service, the packing slip and the customer emails when an order matches your conditions, and shipping rules hide or reprice checkout options for matching carts (Operations plan).
- Ship one order to many recipients from a pasted or uploaded list (Operations plan).
- Book UPS and FedEx pickups from the Pickups card on the Orders page, and mark locations that already have a daily pickup (Operations plan).
- Parcello can create the return label when you approve a return in Shopify, and return labels started in Parcello open the return in Shopify (Operations plan).
- Products can be packed by their size, using each box's inside dimensions and weight limit (Operations plan).
- Estes rates at checkout, bills of lading and freight pickups are now part of the Freight plan. Estes tracking stays on every plan.
- Quick Quote prices a shipment without an order, and the Shipping Costs page compares what customers paid, what labels cost and what carriers invoiced (Advanced plan).
- Checkout rates can check whether an address is a home or a business (Advanced plan), and UPS labels carry the home or business answer from address validation.
- A Label paper setting for each carrier: thermal 4x6, half-sheet labels or letter paper, with a test label to check it.
- An address changed in Shopify updates shipments without labels that still use the old address, and boxes without labels drop units that were cancelled. Parcello also checks every few hours for order updates that didn't arrive.
- A fulfillment cancelled in Shopify is cleared in Parcello, and a shipping line removed from an order shows as removed.
- FedEx PNG labels go through, and FedEx labels switch between Ground and Home Delivery when the address calls for the other one.
- Packing slips can be edited per shipment: change or hide the billing address and write your own message.
- Packing slips and return labels now use the address printed on the label, including carrier corrections.
- Orders set for store pickup or local delivery in Shopify no longer get a shipment. They show as Pickup or Local delivery, with a button to create a shipment anyway.
- UPS international labels to a person without a company name now go through.
- Bills of lading get a review step before they are created, full value coverage is now your choice per shipment, and each box can carry its own bill of lading description (Freight plan).
- Freight details, customs forms and notification settings save as you type.
- A newly connected carrier shows at checkout only after you tick it in that carrier's checkout settings.
- Shippo and Estes error messages now say what the carrier actually reported.
- Every label carries the sender email from the ship-from location, or your store email.
- Consumer shipments to the European Union carry the new EU product identifiers on FedEx labels and on Parcello's invoice.
- Estes pickup requests email you if Estes rejects them.
- Book one Estes pickup for every freight shipment leaving a location that day, from the Orders page (Freight plan).
- Option to hide the box count in checkout rate descriptions.
- Locations have an optional contact name, used on labels next to the company name.
- Shippo services can be picked, ranked and renamed for checkout, with margins and insurance set per carrier.
- The daily attention email names the service each shipment is on.
- The Shippo card shows which Shippo account you are signed in with.
- Fulfillments sent to Shopify now carry the right carrier name for Shippo labels.
- Shippo return labels and international Shippo labels with customs declarations and commercial invoices.

- Locations are checked with your carrier when you save them, with a suggested correction when there is one.
- Voided Shippo labels show their refund status.
- Optional shipping insurance on Shippo labels.
- Potential claims can be dismissed.
- Checkout rates no longer drop to backup rates when one carrier is slow to answer.
- Carton families: products sold as packs of cartons are spread across mailers and balanced.
- Packing slips note which other boxes hold the rest of a product.
- Checkout margins can differ for domestic, international and freight shipments, with a separate free shipping amount for international orders.
- Each box of a multi-box shipment is tracked on its own.
- Declared value is set per box, and a product split across boxes is counted once.
- International labels can bill duties and taxes to you or the recipient, with your EIN and the importer's tax ID.
- Potential claims tab: late deliveries on guaranteed services, with a separate daily refund email.
- Free shipping above an order subtotal, with products you can leave out.
- FedEx international labels send the commercial invoice electronically, with a reason for export.
- The service the customer paid for at checkout is picked on the order.
- Box sharing tab: small items can ride inside another product's box.
- Customer names show on the Tracking page and in the daily email.
- Daily attention email at the hour and to the people you choose.

- Estes bills of lading and pickups from the order page (Freight plan).
- Your UPS exception emails now go out along with the customer's shipping emails.
- UPS address corrections keep the second address line.
- Rates on the order page include the declared value, like the label does.
- Package weights follow the box contents, with a Reset for weights you typed by hand.
