A pick list is a printable PDF for a batch of orders. It tells whoever packs what to pull from the shelves, which boxes to set out, and what goes into each box of each order. Saved batches let you keep a set of orders and reopen it later.
Before you start
- Open the orders as a batch: on the Orders page, select them and click Open in batch. See Ship many orders in a batch.
- The orders need their boxes. The pick list is built from the boxes on each shipment, so pack each order (or let Parcello pack it at import) before you print.
You don’t need labels first. The pick list covers every shipment in the batch that isn’t voided, labeled or not, so you can pick and pack before you buy labels.
Print a pick list
- On the batch page, click Pick list.
- The PDF opens in a new tab. Print it on letter paper.
The title is “Pick list”, or “Pick list · Monday shipments” when you opened a saved batch with that name. Under the title, a summary line counts the orders, boxes and items, for example “8 orders · 14 boxes · 23 items”. Each page carries the title and the time it was printed in the footer.
What the pick list contains
Not in any box
Listed first, and only when it applies: items on the orders that are still to ship but sit in no box. They are “Not picked below. Box these on the order page first.” Each line reads like “#1001 · 2× Prize wheel · Large (WHL-L)”.
Pick
One row per product and variant, with a checkbox, the SKU and the number of units to pull. The same variant on several orders is one row with the total. When the batch ships from more than one location, each location gets its own section, headed “Pick · Warehouse East”.
Boxes
How many of each box type to set out, with a checkbox, for example “24x24x5 × 6”. A box with no box type on file prints as “Custom box”. With more than one location, each location gets “Boxes ·
Pack
Starts on a new page. One block per shipment, with the order number, the customer’s name and city, and the service. Under it, each box with a checkbox and what goes in it:
#1001 Jane Smith, Springfield, IL · UPS Ground
Box 1 of 3 · Wheel box
1× Prize wheel · Large (WHL-L)
Box 2 of 3 · Stand box
1× Prize wheel · Large (WHL-L)
Box 3 of 3 · 24x24x5
1× Prize wheel · Large (WHL-L)
2× Spinner pegs (PEG-10)
Boxes are numbered within the shipment, so “Box 2 of 3” is the second box of that shipment.
How units are counted
The Pick section counts units, not boxes, so a product that ships in several boxes is pulled once per unit:
| On the order | Pick shows | Pack shows |
|---|---|---|
| 2 wheels that each ship in 3 boxes (wheel, stand, graphic) | 2 wheels | 6 boxes, each with “1× Prize wheel” |
| 4 mugs, 2 per carton | 4 mugs | 2 cartons, each with “2× Mug” |
| 1 wheel whose 3 boxes are split over two shipments | 1 wheel | The wheel’s boxes under each shipment |
When a unit’s boxes are split between two shipments of the same order, the unit is still picked once. The count never goes above the quantity left on the order after cancellations.
Saved batches
Saving a batch keeps its list of orders so you can reopen it, for example to print the pick list again or come back to buy labels.
Save a batch
- Open the orders as a batch.
- In the Save this batch card, type a Name (up to 80 characters), for example “Monday shipments”. If you leave it blank, the batch is saved as “Batch”.
- Click Save batch.
The page reloads as the saved batch: the title becomes “Batch · Monday shipments” and the pick list prints with that name.
Reopen a saved batch
Batches in the app menu opens the batch page with the Saved batches card. Each saved batch shows its name, how many orders it holds and the day it was saved, for example “12 orders · Oct 5”. Click the name to open it.
A saved batch keeps the list of orders, not their state. Each time you open it, the rows show the orders as they are now: labels bought since, fulfillments and changes on the order pages all show.
Delete a saved batch
Click Delete next to it in Saved batches. This removes the saved list only. The orders, their labels and fulfillments are not touched.
Notes and limits
- The Saved batches card lists your 25 most recent saved batches.
- Saved batches can’t be renamed or have orders added. To change the set of orders, select them again on the Orders page, open them in a batch and save it under a new name, then delete the old one.
- The Save this batch card shows only for a batch you haven’t saved yet.
- Return labels and voided shipments are not on the pick list.
Troubleshooting
“No boxes in this batch”: none of the shipments in the batch has a box. Pack the orders on their order pages, or click Recalculate Packages there, then print again.
An item is under “Not in any box”: it is on the order but in no box, often after an order edit added it. Open the order, put it in a box in Package Assignments, and print again.
The pick list doesn’t match what was just changed: the pick list is built when you click Pick list. Click it again after changing an order.
