Updated October 5, 2026

Quick Quote prices a shipment on your own carrier accounts without creating an order. Use it to answer a customer’s shipping question, compare services, or check what a heavy box costs before you quote a price. Nothing is saved and no label is bought.

Before you start

  • At least one connected carrier. Quick Quote rates with UPS, FedEx and Shippo, and with Estes and FedEx Freight on the Freight plan.
  • For products, boxes set up on the Products page.

If no carrier is connected, the page says “No carriers to quote with. Connect a carrier on the Carriers page first.”

Get a quote

  1. Go to Quick Quote.
  2. Pick the Carrier. It starts on your store’s default carrier. Each quote rates one carrier; to compare, quote again with another.
  3. Under Ship from, pick one of your locations, or Manual… to enter a Country, ZIP / Postal, City (optional) and State (optional).
  4. Under Ship to, enter the Country, ZIP / Postal and, if you have them, City (optional) and State (optional). Tick Residential destination for a home address.
  5. Add products, boxes, or both (below).
  6. Set the options and click Get rates.

A country and a ZIP or postal code are enough for both ends.

Products

Search by product, variant or SKU and click Add, then set the quantity. Products pack with your box setup from the Products page, as one shipment from the location you picked, the same way checkout packs a cart. Each product’s own ship-from location and carrier are ignored.

  • Up to 50 different products per quote, up to 999 of each.
  • Search results flag “No box set up” and “Doesn’t need shipping”. You can’t add a product that doesn’t need shipping.

After rating, a Packed boxes table shows each Box, its Dimensions, Weight and Contents (“2× Soft Case · 18 inch, 1× Stand”).

Boxes

Each row in Boxes is one box type:

FieldWhat it does
BoxManual dimensions, or a box from your library. A library box fills in its dimensions and empty weight. Add the content weight on top.
L (in), W (in), H (in)Dimensions in inches.
Weight (lb)Total weight of one box.
QtyHow many identical boxes (up to 200).

Click Add box for another row. An empty row is skipped. Boxes you enter are rated together with the packed products.

Example: 3 products packed into 2 boxes, plus a row of 4 manual boxes, rate as one 6-box shipment.

Options

OptionWhat it does
Ship dateThe day the shipment leaves. Carriers use it for delivery dates.
Declared value ($)Asks the carrier to price coverage for this value, where it prices one. On Estes this is full-value coverage. FedEx Freight quotes don’t use it.
Signature requiredAdds the carrier’s signature charge to the quote. Freight quotes don’t use it: freight is signed for at delivery.
Saturday deliveryPrices Saturday delivery on UPS and FedEx. Shippo, Estes and FedEx Freight quote weekday delivery only.

When Estes is the carrier, a Freight (Estes) section adds the Destination type (Business, Residential, Trade show / Exhibition and other delivery locations) and the delivery accessorials Liftgate at delivery, Inside delivery, Delivery appointment and Notify before delivery. Sort and segregate isn’t offered: Estes bills it on the invoice, not in a quote.

When FedEx Freight is the carrier, a Freight (FedEx Freight) section adds the delivery accessorials Liftgate at delivery, Inside delivery, Limited-access delivery and Delivery appointment (call before delivery). A home delivery follows the Residential destination box.

Read the results

The Rates table lists each service the carrier returned:

ColumnWhat it shows
ServiceThe service name. A second line can say “Saturday delivery” or “Saturday fee” with the charge, and for Shippo “Your account” or “Shippo account” and any insurance included.
PriceThe quoted price.
Rate typeNegotiated (your account’s price) or List (the carrier’s published price, shown when the account price isn’t available).
DeliveryThe delivery date (with a time for guaranteed services), or “~3 business days” when the carrier gives only transit days.

“Saturday fee” means UPS charged for Saturday delivery on a service that still delivers on a weekday.

Notes and limits

  • Quotes come from your carrier accounts, but nothing is reserved. A label bought later is priced again at that time.
  • Quick Quote uses a placeholder street address, so it doesn’t check addresses. Home or business follows the Residential destination box.
  • Estes quotes US, Canadian and Mexican destinations. Canada needs the city.
  • FedEx Freight quotes shipments within the United States and needs the destination city and state.
